Student Success Spotlight Meet Nick from Caryn Elementary! Just last year, Nick arrived in the United States without knowing any English. Through hard work, determination, and the support of his teachers and friends, he’s made incredible progress in mastering the language. Now, Nick is paying it forward by helping his teacher translate for a new student. He comes to school every day with a big smile and a positive outlook, inspiring everyone around him.

STEAM at Caryn Elementary was a blast! Students worked on a STEAM project where they made boats out of foil and tested how many pennies they could load onto the boat before it sank. A great way to mix creativity with science!

Shoutout to these Golden Stars for choosing Hands-On Math Games over screen time! Learning, laughing, and leveling up those math skills while having a blast.

Our Grapeland Grizzlies are spreading kindness in the most meaningful way! We are incredibly proud of our Grapeland families for their generosity in supporting those affected by the Eaton fires and our heroic first responders. A heartfelt thank-you to their amazing PTA for organizing this impactful drive and delivering donations to Altadena. Together, we’re making a difference!
We’d love to see how your student is celebrating Kindness Week! Share your photos with us at dosocialmedia@etiwanda.org and we will post them.

Student Success Spotlight Meet Allan, a 2nd grader from Mrs. Melvin’s class at East Heritage Elementary! Allan is a math superstar who excels in multiplication, going beyond the factors of 12 with ease. His love for learning doesn’t stop there—he enjoys doing homework and is also a skilled chess player! We’re so proud of Allan and his passion for learning! Keep up the amazing work, Allan!

Spending too much time on screens can interfere with language development, critical thinking, and overall brain health. Experts suggest that excessive screen time might narrow a child's focus, limiting their opportunities for exploration and learning. It can also affect their reading skills, attention span, and even sleep, as screens used late at night can disrupt melatonin levels and delay bedtime.

Meet Michael Molina, a 2nd grader in Mrs. Fahres' class, who was chosen as the "Scientist of the Week"! Here he is wowing his classmates with the "Erupting Volcano" experiment, using baking soda, water, and vinegar. Each student will have the chance to take on this exciting role, making science both fun and educational. Great job, Michael—keep exploring and inspiring!

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all schools and the district office will be closed today.

Celebrating 100 Days of Learning! Students at Perdew Elementary marked 100 days of school by celebrating being 100 days smarter!
