Message From The Superintendent

Welcome to the Etiwanda School District!

On behalf of the Etiwanda Board of Trustees, welcome to our district, where each day we work together to reach our goal of “Excellence in Education.”

The Etiwanda School District website contains many valuable resources for families, students, staff, and the community. Families can also download the Etiwanda School District mobile app to receive district, school, and classroom notifications, view school calendars and lunch menus, access links to forms and documents with ease, and use the two-way parent-teacher chat feature, Rooms.

The Etiwanda School District was founded in 1883 and covers the western portion of the city of Fontana and the eastern part of the city of Rancho Cucamonga. The district provides an outstanding instructional program for over 13,000 students in grades TK through 8. The district has thirteen K-5 elementary schools and four 6-8 intermediate schools. Students promoted to high school enroll in the local Chaffey Joint Union High School District (CJUHSD).

Since the district’s inception in 1883, proud traditions have been established, which are the key to the success of our students. These traditions include high levels of academic achievement for all students, a high-quality teaching and support staff, accessible support systems for mental health services for students and families, significant levels of family engagement in our schools, and recognition of the value of diversity in our community.

The district has built on the foundation of these traditions to include a strong instructional technology program that connects students with supplemental resources both at home and at school, a robust library services program that operates year-round and provides extracurricular activities for students, an alternative education program to accommodate a greater variety of family needs and a state-of-the-art professional development program to support our educators, administrators, and paraprofessionals on best practices.

I encourage you to review the Etiwanda School District belief statements, vision statement, and mission statement to get a sense of what our district is all about and what we hope to achieve in the future. Have a great school year!

Respectfully,

Charlayne Sprague

Superintendent
