Learning Through Play
Thank you for reaching out regarding the grant implementation in our classrooms. It was such an honor to receive the funds and my students have loved all of the wonderful items I had the opportunity to purchase! I have attached a few pictures of the items. Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you and have a great day!

Playground Core Boards
I’ve attached some pictures of one of the playground core words boards in action. This one is at East Heritage Elementary.
We’ve had great success with the core boards on the playground. We’ve observed our preschoolers, both those with IEPs and gen ed students, as well as TK and even childcare kids, show interest in the pictures on the boards. The grant allowed us to pilot the boards at two school sites and we ended up ordering banners for all of our sites. I recently had a TK teacher ask about the banner and core boards for use within her classroom to support incoming TK students with complex communication needs.

Light Wave Maze Project
I used the grant to implement the Light Wave Maze Project. Students learned about how light reflects based on the law of reflection. The goal was to use the least amount of mirrors to make a light beam reflect through a maze and hit the target at the end. Students had to measure angles and use the law of reflection to compute where each ray would reflect.
Thank you so much, the students enjoyed this project.
