Meet your 2nd Grade Team
Announcements
Monday, May 5, 2025
Good Morning Families,
Happy Monday! Well we are down to 14 days left of school. Hard to believe that our classes are soon to be 3rd graders.
We are pretty busy for the next few weeks with wrapping up our core subjects and looking forward to a fun-filled last four days of school.
This week will be our last week of homework. Students are encouraged to continue reading, but they may read any book at any level for their enjoyment.
We will continue to focus this week on what makes parts of the world different from one another. Why are there mountains in some places and deserts in other places?
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.
Word Workout
Words to Know: compound words You and your child will define each vocabulary word. Then you’ll make up a question using each word, and your child will make up an answer using that list word.
Spelling/Phonics: silent letters wr, kn, gn, mb, sc You will say each list word, and your child will spell it and tell you which letter is silent. This week’s words contain the silent letters in words spelled with wr, kn, gn, mb, and s
Have a wonderful week everyone,
With Smiles,
The Second Grade Team
