Wellness Committee

What is the Wellness Committee?

Local wellness policies are an important tool for parents, schools and districts in promoting student wellness, preventing and reducing childhood obesity, and providing assurance that school meal nutrition guidelines meet the minimum federal school meal standards.

The Etiwanda School District Wellness Committee meets twice each year.   Parents, physical education teachers, school health professionals, child nutrition leaders, school administrators, and community representatives participate in the development, implementation, review, and update of the local wellness policy during these meetings.
